Special Programs

Each year we run three annual programs to help thousands of families in need on Long Island. All items that we give out are donated. If you or your church, school, business, club or organization would like to collect items for any of these programs or volunteer for them, contact us. Please put “collecting OR volunteering for [program name]” in your email subject line.

In late August at our Back-to-School program we give out new school supplies to parents so that their children can begin the school year fully prepared. Click here for our Back-to-School needs flyer.

Our annual Christmas Gift-Giving program for parents in need. Thousands of toys and gifts are given out to parents
of children ages newborn to 18 years.

In November, we run a Thanksgiving Program to distribute food to needy families so they can enjoy a special meal on this day. We assemble bags containing nonperishable Thanksgiving meal items with a frozen turkey. These are given to thousands of families at our weekly outreaches. (Note: The Mission cannot serve a cooked Thanksgiving meal at our headquarters due to food service restrictions.)
